Rob Jones (Professional Tutor), Jeff Moreton (Head of Maths)
Manningtree High School, N.E. Essex
David supported our Maths GTP and we found him to be organised, thorough, experienced, knowledgeable and always available for advice, for a chat or just to listen. David's work with our trainees helped the school to focus its training and induction processes. Above all, David is professional; we look forward to developing our relationship with him. We recommend David to any other educational institution.
Tony Robinson (Director GTP)
Cambridge Partnership
As Director of the programme I have found David to be an enthusiast, a responsive and reliable colleague, always willing to give of his time for the benefit of the Partnership. I also know that he is simultaneously developing other complementary aspects of his career, continued professional development which facilitates his involvement in a broad range of training activity.
Steven Davidson (Headteacher)
Thomas Lord Audley
David Maynard has given this school the confidence and through his expertise, the ability to ensure high quality Initial Teacher Training, mentoring and professional development, that we could not have achieved without his support.
David is a genuine man who gives of his time willingly and this school has benefitted from his support in ways that could not have been achieved by a member of staff in school. He gives an additional perspective to our work which is highly valued by the staff. He is also willing to get involved in the work of the school giving us the additional benefit of his expertise.
David Anderson (Recruitment Strategy Manager)
Peterborough City Council
David Maynard took a major part in short-listing, interviewing and appointing an entire cohort of Graduate Teacher Programme trainees for Peterborough City Council in April 2005. His contribution was invaluable and his judgement unerringly accurate. Secondary school students in Peterborough will ultimately benefit hugely from his expertise and professionalism. I would commend his services unreservedly.
Roger Vandevelde (Deputy Director - Learners)
Children's & Young People's Services, Bexley
David was selected as the Interim Head of Bank Special School, a residential school for boys with emotional and behavioural difficulties, that was on special measures. David undertook the role with great enthusiasm and optimism and his well developed oral and interpersonal skills were used to build relationships with pupils and staff through these difficult circumstances. He undertook the leadership role of the School, with a number of staff subject to low morale and demonstrating reservations about the decision to provide leadership to the School from an external source. He quickly gained the confidence and respect of staff, exercised good judgement and applied his analytical skills to the difficulties faced by the School. This is a reflection of his considerable ability, and his clear suitability for work within education organisations.
Michael Rose (Headteacher)
Wayland Community High School
David Maynard is a respected and experienced educationalist who has worked in a wide area of challenging situations over many years. He is able to offer schools he works with a breadth of experience, knowledge and up-to-date awareness that enables them to focus on self evaluation and objective views. Particularly with ourselves he has completed some excellent work recently on Specialist Status project evaluation and offered sound views and comment on how we can move further forward.
John Britten
EAZ Project Director for Bedford
David Maynard took a project barely in its infancy and developed it to the point where it could stand on its own feet. It was a complex project requiring discussion with a wide range of organisations and people at different levels within them. Schools, Local Authorities, Colleges Universities and Businesses required information, consultation and direction. The project had to be sold, commitment elicited and enthusiasm captured. There was little support available and the work required a self-motivated individual who could motivate others. David reported back in a clear and efficient way, meeting deadlines both in activity and financial management.
David Naylor (Consultant)
External Assessor for employment based training routes into teaching
As an independant consultant I have been moderating the work which David Maynard does on behalf of the TTA in the role of an external assessor of trainees following employment based initial teacher training programmes. The work I have moderated has been of a high standard and he has consistently met all the required deadlines. The reports he has written have been focused and thorough and the evaluations secure.
Hilary Spurrier (Education Adviser)
Milton Keynes Council - Learning and Development Directorate
David became interim head of the pupil referral unit when it was at a particularly low ebb. He helped to restore calm and create a positive learning environment. David quickly gained the confidence of the staff and students, rebuilt the staff team, inspired confidence and ensured a smooth handover to the substantive headteacher. His enthusiasm, good humour and capacity for hard work are used to good effect in motivating the teams he works with. His interpersonal skills ensure that he works well with a wide range of people and in several different settings.
Mike Berrill (Headteacher)
